Lorraine Heskin of Gourmet Food Parlour (GFP) has recently launched an initiative with the Dublin GAA County Board, after five years providing all their catering and corporate needs.
In 2015 GFP became the official catering partners of Dublin GAA, and has been involved with the success of the Dublin Senior teams and all underage teams ever since. According to Lorraine: “It came as a natural fit for us to become partners of Dublin GAA”.
GFP works very closely with the nutritionists for the Dublin teams to ensure that all meals they serve are perfectly balanced for their specific training needs at that time. “Some of the key components of providing healthy meals for athletes include catering for individual dietary needs depending on their training focus, as well as enabling athletes to perform at their optimum level throughout the season,” said Lorraine.
GFP tailor designs menus to ensure there is always plenty of choice and variety, as well as keeping an eye on seasonality of fresh fruit and vegetables. “We are very particular when choosing our supply chain and luckily, we have built great relationships with our suppliers over the past 12 years which helps us to maintain and be confident in all of our produce that we buy,” Lorraine said.
Plans for the new initiative include “Merging and developing new ways to engage with our partners, and we work very closely with the Dublin GAA on a regular basis to keep the partnership fresh and creative”.
Gourmet Food Parlour plans to work closely with Dublin GAA fans this year, offering incentives to enjoy pre or post-match meals in their restaurants. “We also look forward to running a fantastic sports event in the Autumn so watch this space for more info,” said Lorraine.
